News or what

Due to the nature of the content that attracts audiences the most within the digital sphere, one can realize that, more than news, most users prefer the subjects that entertain and facilitate their socialization within those networks.

Hence the success of the platforms that offer videos, tutorials, data, music, games and illustrated stories, through images, films, instant messaging or video-calls.

And with regard to the news, they prefer those considered lighter or less impactful, in particular those short stories that can quickly give a wide vision of the events or connect with the spirit of society and their interaction.

That's why audiences are classified between consumers of content and readers, and towards this niche is where the digital newspapers head to, especially those that belong to printed media and seek for a hybridization between news and entertainment to earn more public.

For instance, the "last minute" news, which file important facts and the stories that are formed from that point, really help to capture the attention of the readers, specifically, not necessarily the consumers'.

The printed newspapers that own digital platforms must know how to distinguish these characteristics of the audiences. That's why it's a regular and daily task to review the impact or reader records of the news in order to have the correct pulse on where the preferences are going.

Slowly, these digital newspapers have been incorporating podcasts, which are interactive narratives and videos used to spread news events, as well as new applications of augmented reality, without this downgrading any editorial quality, which is the strong point of the matrices of the printed format.

This allows the interaction of the audiences, with the contents, to become increasingly popular. Thus, they've found a formidable vein to reach out to more people and obtain, with their subscriptions or partnership models, a higher volume of income and more loyalty from their readers.

The printed newspapers have learned, within this process of hybridization, that their lordship is about consists in supplying more content of high importance, such as analyzes, chronicles, reports referring to problems that individually or collectively affect society, and then perform a complete contextualization and verification of their facts, as a way to get vaccinated against the avalanche of false or manipulated news that often intoxicate the contents of the Internet.
